A corner of Eugene’s Monroe Park will be full of this beautiful, dreamy sound installation from 6-8pm on Thursday, July 24 and Sunday, July 27. Take a stroll, bring a blanket, bring your friends, hang out and listen to sounds and tones derived from recordings of Monroe Park.
This piece was inspired by Eleanor Roosevelt’s words: “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” (You’ll find the quote on the sign for Monroe Park!) It was commissioned by the City of Eugene’s “Art in the Parks” program, celebrating the beauty of the park and its neighborhood.
In the first half of 2025, ambient sounds will be collected from Monroe Park and used to create the two-hour sound installation. Quadraphonic speakers will be set up in the meadow (the southwest corner of the park) for two surreal hours… enjoy!

Sponsored by City of Eugene Art in the Parks.
