About the Invisible Cities

INVISIBLE CITIES is a novel published by Italo Calvino in 1972. His remarkable prose poems tell of 55 cities supposedly visited by Marco Polo, as described to Kublai Khan. Each city is described as a fanciful parable; an existential meditation. It is organized according to 11 categories (5 cities in each) addressing issues such as memory, desire and death.

An audio/visual piece is being created for each of the Cities. Curated by David Graves beginning in 2018, most are finished or under construction.
